TOPIC: Say No To Treachery (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Devotional 31 May 2024)

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Job 18, Job 19, Job 20, Acts 4, Acts 5

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Matthew 26:14-25 (KJV)

14 Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests,

15 And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver.

16 And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him.

17 Now the first day of the feast of unleavened bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare for thee to eat the passover?

18 And he said, Go into the city to such a man, and say unto him, The Master saith, My time is at hand; I will keep the passover at thy house with my disciples.

19 And the disciples did as Jesus had appointed them; and they made ready the passover.

20 Now when the even was come, he sat down with the twelve.

21 And as they did eat, he said, Verily I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me.

22 And they were exceeding sorrowful, and began every one of them to say unto him, Lord, is it I?

23 And he answered and said, He that dippeth his hand with me in the dish, the same shall betray me.

24 The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born.

25 Then Judas, which betrayed him, answered and said, Master, is it I? He said unto him, Thou hast said.

MEMORY VERSE: “Woe to thee that spoilest, and thou wast not spoiled; and dealest treacherously, and they dealt not treacherously with thee! when thou shalt cease to spoil, thou shalt be spoiled; and when thou shalt make an end to deal treacherously, they shall deal treacherously with thee.” – Isaiah 33:1 (KJV)

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTES:
Treachery and betrayal are common with men with no conscience. Know assuredly that if you are a traitor, traitors will surround you.

PRAISE AND WORSHIP:
Take praise and worship songs as led by the Holy Spirit.

PROPHETIC WORD FOR TODAY:
GOD SHALL EXPOSE EVERY KISS OF BETRAYAL ASSIGNED TO SELL YOU OFF, IN THE NAME OF JESUS.

MFM Devotional For Today 2023 MESSAGE:

Treachery is an act of treason, disloyalty and betrayal of trust. It is an attitude of traitors. To be betrayed by someone you love is the height of treachery, as this historical account testifies: No treachery is worse than betrayal by a family member or friend. Julius Caesar knew such treachery. Among the conspirators who assassinated the Roman leader on March 15, 44 [B.C.] was Marcus Junius Brutus. Caesar not only trusted Brutus, he had favoured him as a son. According to Roman historians, Caesar first resisted the onslaught of the assassins. But when he saw Brutus among them with his dagger drawn, Caesar ceased to struggle and, pulling the top part of his robe over his face, asked the famous question, “You too, Brutus?

Today, treachery is commonplace within families, among business associates, professional colleagues and friends. One name that flashes into our minds when the word “traitor” is spoken is Judas Iscariot. He betrayed the Lord of glory. He trampled Christ’s love for him underfoot. It is almost unthinkable that a man could personally live and fellowship with Jesus for three and a half years and still betray Him. Judas was a name associated with all that is vile and treacherous.

Christ described Judas as a friend by alluding to Psalm 55:12-14. Apparently, the friendship that existed between Jesus and Judas was only one-sided. Jesus cared for Judas. Judas however, cared only for Judas. Such was the man Judas Iscariot.

Judas sold out Jesus for the price of a common slave. Many believers since then have sold Him out for much less, such as a few moments of pleasure, popularity, revenge, or pride. When the time of decision came for Judas, he took his stand with the devil’s crowd because of silver. Where are you standing today, Beloved? Are you standing with Judas, or with Jesus? You cannot be neutral about Christ.

The end of a traitor is always very bitter as seen in the life of Judas. I can imagine that as Judas, in his remorse, threw those thirty pieces of silver on the floor of the Temple at the feet of the priests, every coin must have rung out the word, “Traitor!” He ended his life in eternal damnation. May we not be a slave of material things, in Jesus’ Name.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING

  1. Seed of treason in my heart, die by fire, in the Name of Jesus.
  2. Blood of Jesus, purge my heart from every tendency to betray others, in the Name of Jesus.

  2. Every Judas in and around me, be exposed and be disgraced, in the Name of Jesus.
