TOPIC: Who Is My Neighbour? (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Devotional 31 October 2024)

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Ezekiel 6, Ezekiel 7, 1 Corinthians 6, 1 Corinthians 7

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Luke 10:29-36 (KJV)

29 But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour?

30 And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.

31 And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.

32 And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side.

33 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him,

34 And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.

35 And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.

36 Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?

MEMORY VERSE: “But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.” – Matthew 9:36 (KJV)

It is easier to love humanity as a whole than to love one’s neighbour.

PROPHETIC WORD FOR TODAY:
Receive the race to know God intimately in the name of Jesus.

MFM Devotional For Today 2024 MESSAGE:

The Fire Scripture today vividly reveals a story that Jesus narrated to communicate the truth to us about being our brother’s keeper in the midst of challenging situations in life. The story reveals a surprising trajectory because the people that were supposed to be in the position to help the man that was attacked by robbers did not help him. A priest ignored him. A Levite did the same thing and the shocking development was that it was a Samaritan that rescued the man from his ordeals.

The Bible did not tell us much about the nativity of the man that fell among robbers, but it says the man journeyed from Jerusalem. There is probability that he was a Jew. If he was a Jew, how come his own people ignored him when he was in trouble? The priest and the Levites are supposed to be Jews but yet they ignored him. It was a Samaritan that was supposed to show some level of hatred for a Jew that saved the man.

Sometimes, this kind of scenario plays out in our environment today. A Christian ignores another Christian in trouble and it is unbeliever that sometimes rises up to the occasion and provides a succour for the Christian. The truth is that we are the body of Christ and if we belong to the same body, we should feel the pain and agony of our fellow Christian. Anytime we don’t feel the pain of other Christians, we need to check ourselves and confirm if we are still part of the body of Christ.

Beloved, our Christianity must go beyond just speaking. We must add good deeds first to other Christians and also to everybody that crosses our paths.
