MFM Devotional For Today 2024 MESSAGE:

Mordecai played the role of a father in the life of Haddasah, his cousin, and he played it well. Despite the fact that the orphaned Haddasah was not his biological child, he gave her the opportunity of enjoying the love of a father. He compassionately took her for his own daughter and gave her the feather to fly through godly tutelage, counsels and trainings. He never left his parental training to chance. When he heard about the beauty pageant that could move the life of Esther forward, he gave her a push.

Beloved, how much of a father can your children or children around you boast that they have in you? Some people are just fathers in their homes just because they make money available for house keep and then pay school fees and nothing more. Being a father figure is way more than that, Beloved. It is being a priest over your home. It is being a father for your children and wards. It is being a watchman at the gate of your home. In Ephesians 6:4, fathers are admonished not to provoke their children to wrath. “Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger by the way you treat them. Rather, bring them up with the discipline and instruction that comes from the Lord” – NLT.

Father, how much of time do you devote to being with your family? When last did you have a special time of fellowship with your family? When last were you there to have a heart-to-heart talk with your children? When your boys and even your girls need a father figure to pour out their minds to, were you there for them? God said of Abraham that he would command his children after him and he really did. He trained Isaac to know his God. How is your parenting skill? Are you a parent or you are just paying the rent? How much interest do you have in their overall wellbeing? Or do you just drop money and off you go? Some fathers are lions in their own homes. No child dares talk when they are around. Their wives shiver when anything is to be said.

Fathers, please retrace your steps in handling and nurturing the children and wards God has placed in your care.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING

  1. I refuse to be a bad father to my children, in the Name of Jesus.
  2. Father, help me to father my household according to your laid-down rule, in the Name of Jesus.
  3. My children will be greater than me, in the Name of Jesus.

EVENING

  1. Like father, like son evil pattern, break by fire, in the Name of Jesus.
  2. My children shall possess the gates of their enemies, in the Name of Jesus.
  3. As a father and a priest over my home, I command greatness on my children, in the Name of Jesus.
  4. By fire, by force, my children will serve the living God, in the Name of Jesus.
