TOPIC: Leadership Lessons From Bible Characters (VII) (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Devotional 7 August 2021)

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Jeremiah 14-17

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Isaiah 6:1-8

1 In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.

2 Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.

3 And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.

4 And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke.

5 Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.

6 Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar:

7 And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.

8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

MEMORY VERSE: “For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.” – Hebrews 6:10

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:
The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.

PRAISE WORSHIP: Take a worship song as led by the Holy Spirit

PROPHETIC WORD FOR TODAY:
I DECREE THAT YOUR ZEAL AND PASSION FOR SERVING GOD SHALL NOT DIMINISH, IN THE NAME OF JESUS.

The MESSAGE:

In a vision Isaiah had in Isaiah 6, God asked who he should send as a prophet to His people. Isaiah responded, “Here am I. Send me!” Leaders don’t wait to see if anyone else is going to step up when something needs done. They take initiative. They are first to raise their hands, first to stand, first to speak up and first to make decisions. Leaders shun inaction and are always ready to take the plunge at the moment’s notice. It is disheartening, nowadays, to see many projects in the house of God begging for volunteers who would execute them for God. The love of many has waxed cold and the zeal they once had is no longer there. Beloved, if this describes your situation, you need to cry out to God for forgiveness, help and restoration. Isaiah’s encounter with the Lord made him a completely changed person. Many people need to spend time alone with God so as to get back on track with Him and the agenda of heaven for their lives.

When the Philistine giant was harassing the soldiers of Israel and there was no man to confront him, David rose to the occasion and defeated Goliath, leading the defeat of the Philistines. I want you to note that David was not in the army, but he was anointed of God. The soldiers of Israel cringed in the face of the enemy but David had the supernatural courage and willingness to step out and silence the uncircumcised Philistine who defied the God of Israel. By so doing, he displayed a rare leadership quality. He did not wait to be invited or conscripted into the army. He rose to the occasion on his own volition. His victory over Goliath marked his emergence as a champion of the people sent by God as well as his rise to prominence and the throne.

Beloved, if you are guilty of being dormant and idle in the things of God, it is hightime you turned a new leaf and become a co-labourer with God. Isaiah went on to become a Messianic prophet; David went on to become Israel’s greatest king. Step out and do great things for the Lord. He will beautify your life and destiny!
