MFM Devotional For Today 2024 MESSAGE:

Mordecai was discreet. He wasn’t a man who always wanted to make a point. He knew how to keep his private affairs private. He knew that certain aspects of a man’s life are not for public consumption. He understood timing and when to reveal certain information. He knew when to take cover and when to take over. He was a wise and discreet man. In our text, “Esther had not shewed her people nor her kindred: for Mordecai had charged her that she should not shew it.”(Esther 2:10). Mordecai had warned Esther not to say anything about her family and racial background. If Esther had revealed her background, she probably would have been rejected on the ground of race in the beauty contest. Mordecai inculcated discretion in her. Family affairs are not a matter for the social media.

It baffles me to see how some people will meet a total stranger for the first time, and in less than 10 minutes would have downloaded all their lives from genesis to revelation. No discretion, no restraint. It baffles me even more to see Christians talk and talk until they talk away themselves into the enemy’s hands. Some in a bid to show off and prove a point will talk and sell off their destiny secrets into the enemy’s archive. The fact is that some Christians talk way too much.

The more you talk, the more you can be entangled. Let’s learn to keep our secret, secret.
Samson would have done more for God but for his lack of discretion. If there’s nothing to say, there’s no point saying anything. We can elongate our lives if we become people of few words. In Luke 1:24, Elisabeth was able to keep her pregnancy to terms because of discretion. “And after those days his wife Elisabeth conceived, and hid herself five months.” Even in sharing certain testimonies, discretion is demanded to allow them to ripe. There’s actually no point to make if you do not have a point yet. Wait for the appropriate time that even the testimony will be the one announcing itself. This is not to say that you should not share your testimony. We overcome the devil by the words of our testimony; share your testimony, but apply wisdom and discretion.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING

  1. My tongue, receive healing and deliverance, in the Name of Jesus.
  2. My words will not put me in trouble, in the Name of Jesus.
  3. Any word I have spoken in the past that the enemy is using against me, be swallowed by the voice of the Lord, in the Name of Jesus.

EVENING

  1. My testimonies will not be aborted, in the Name of Jesus.
  2. I reject a short-lived victory, in the Name of Jesus.
  3. Any evil word spoken to rubbish my destiny, fall down to the ground and die, in the Name of Jesus.
  4. By my confession, I obtain total victory, in the Name of Jesus.
