FIRE SCRIPTURE: 1 John 2:15-17 (KJV)
15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
MEMORY VERSE: “And she said, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he awoke out of his sleep, and said, I will go out as at other times before, and shake myself. And he wist not that the Lord was departed from him.” – Judges 16:20 (KJV)

MFM Devotional For Today 2024 MESSAGE:
King Saul and Samson are two characters in the Bible whose tragic lives should be a deterrent to all Christians. These were men that God loved and gave unique assignments (how else could He have shown His love), but whose lifestyles not only incurred God’s anger, but also placed them in the category of men who lost the presence of God. They then became objects of ridicule to the enemy.
What this tells us is that if we want to live a victorious life of destiny fulfilment, free from insults from the kingdom of darkness, we must ensure that we stay in the presence of God all the time and not on a “hit and run basis’. The presence of God simply is that position where the Holy Spirit is your constant Companion, Teacher, Guide, Sanctifier, and Comforter. It is a position where He is the One who helps you in your prayer and consistently assures you that you have been adopted by God and no longer a slave, no matter what covenants your parents or ancestors have with the devil. I congratulate you if you are already in this position. But be warned that you can easily loose this precious gift.
How do you maintain this enviable position? It is by avoiding the things that made Samson and Saul to lose the position and more. Here are some of the salient points you should note:
(1) No disobedience in whatever form it may present itself. Remember that disobedience is as bad as witchcraft. (2) Never hesitate to repent, never give excuses for your sins, never go back to any sin. (3) Avoid being worldly. This means avoid the lifestyle of unbelievers. Internalise Psalm 1:1-6, 1 John 2:15-17. (4) Never leave your spiritual batteries uncharged. Flies will not dare to perch on a hot iron. One of the most sorrowful verses in the Bible is Judges 16:20. Samson got up to perform feats as he used to do, but ‘he wist not that The Lord had departed from him’.
Beloved, always remember that you, as a child of God, have access to Him all the time and even if once in a while you take a wrong step, never hesitate to reconcile with Him immediately. Even Samson did.
PRAYER POINTS:
MORNING
- My Father and my God, give me the anointing of Samson minus his willful disobedience, in the Name of Jesus.
- I cut myself off from any ancestral or parental spiritual arrangement that will rob me of the presence of God, in the Name of Jesus.
- O God my Father, make me a number one like Saul, minus the men-pleaser tendency, in the Name of Jesus.
EVENING
- Holy Spirit, come into my life and make it Your permanent residential address, in the Name of Jesus.
- Blood of Jesus, purge me of whatever will make my life inhospitable to the Holy Spirit, in the Name of Jesus.
- I reject all the lies of the devil aimed at making me take the wrong steps, in the Name of Jesus.
- Holy Spirit, help me to avoid unfriendly friends, satan’s tools of destiny diversion, in the Name of Jesus.
