TOPIC: Is Christ In Your Vessel? (I) (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Devotional 9 January 2022)

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Genesis 19, Genesis 20:1-18, Matthew 7:24-29, Matthew 8:1-22, Psalm 7:1-9

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Mark 4:35-41 (KJV)

35 And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side.

36 And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships.

37 And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.

38 And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?

39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

40 And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?

41 And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?

MEMORY VERSE: “What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?” – Romans 8:31

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:
When Christ is in your vessel, you will fear no storm.

PRAISE & WORSHIP

PROPHETIC WORD FOR TODAY:
I PROPHESY THAT THE LORD WILL BE THE CAPTAIN OF YOUR VESSEL THIS YEAR AND BEYOND, IN THE NAME OF JESUS.

The MESSAGE:

Life is a journey, a voyage of a kind. In this journey, it matters a lot who is the captain of your ship or vessel. The personality has so much to do with whether you will reach your destination safely or not. Having a vessel or ship built by experts and uniquely equipped does not guarantee the safety of the vessel. Neither does having an experienced human captain guarantee its safety. The Titanic had all these, yet it sank! As you journey in this year and beyond, having Jesus as the Captain of your vessel is the guarantee to your safety, fulfilment and successful landing. Without Jesus, you can do nothing, but you can do all things when you make Him your source of strength, help and all. Is Christ in your vessel? Is He the Captain of the ship of your life? Or is He a mere passenger?

When Jesus is in your vessel, you will be saved from tempest and storm. Why? He is the Master over storms. He only needs to speak to them and they will be still (Mark 4:39). Our Fire Scripture provides an interesting account of Christ’s disciples’ encounter with a storm as they journeyed on the sea. Their boat was already water-logged and they stood the risk of drowning. However, because Jesus was with them in the boat, they woke Him up, and He rebuked the storm and the tempest saying, “Peace, be still!” Immediately there was calm! The same Voice is still speaking. He will command every storm and turbulence in and around your life to receive peace and be still, in Jesus’ name.

Beloved, ensure that you make Christ the Captain of your vessel this year. As the Hymn writer penned, “If Christ is in your vessel, you will fear no storm.”

As you begin the journey of this year, do not trust in the arm of flesh! The Bible says, “It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes” (Psalm 118:8-9). The arm of flesh will fail you. Make Jesus Christ your Saviour, Lord and Captain this year; remain in Him, worship and serve Him. This will be one of your best years ever, in the name of Jesus.
