Topic: LET HIM TAKE YOUR BURDEN

Memory Verse: Ezekiel 18:20 – The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.
Bible Reading: Ezekiel 18:14

Message: The righteousness of God demands that the soul that commits sin would die as we see in our memory verse today. John 10:10 however gives us an alternative to sin and death:
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

When we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour, He saves us from the life of sin, and ultimately eternal death, blessing us with abundant life instead.

Another truth I want to share with us is that the righteousness of God does not allow an offender to be punished twice for one offence. Since Jesus Christ our Redeemer has suffered for our sins, we are discharged and acquitted. As long as you do not commit that sin again, once Jesus has forgiven you, your forgiveness is absolute.

Surely he hath borne our griefs and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon-him; and-with-his stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:4-5

Beloved, I am using this medium to appeal to you to come to Jesus Christ today and He will relieve you of your burden of sin. As a matter of fact, the cross He carried before His crucifixion was for you and me. All you need to do is confess your sins and accept Jesus as your Saviour and Lord. The Bible says if we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and there is no truth in us (1 John 1:8). We deny ourselves the privilege of the great Burden-Bearer if we refuse to come to Him and make Him the Lord of our lives. He must be your Lord and Saviour.

I pray that the Almighty God will relieve you of every burden of sin and sorrow, in Jesus’ name.

Hymn: What A Friend We Have In Jesus
Points: Father, I bring my burden to you today in genuine repentance. Please forgive me and lift my burden today,, in the mighty name of Jesus

Bible in one year: Ezekiel 43, Ezekiel 44, Ezekiel 45, Ezekiel 46, Ezekiel 47, Ezekiel 48

Title: What a Friend We Have in Jesus.
Chorus: null.

  1. What a friend we have in Jesus,

All our sins and griefs to bear;
what a privilege to carry
Ev’rything to God in prayer.
Oh, what peace we often forfeit,
Oh, what needless pain we bear-
All because we do not carry
Ev’rything to God in prayer.

  2. Have we trials and temptations?

Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged,
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a Friend so faithful
Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our ev’ry weakness,
Take it to the Lord in prayer.

  3. Are we weak and heavy laden,

Cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Saviour, still our refuge,
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
In His arms He’ll take and shield thee,
Thou wilt find a solace there.
