TOPIC: The Beauty Of Being Young [Open Heaven for Teens 1 April 2022]

MEMORISE: Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them; Ecclesiastes 12:1

READ: Luke 2:46-50 (KJV)

  1. And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions.
  2. And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers.
  3. And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing.
  4. And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business?
  5. And they understood not the saying which he spake unto them.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Luke 8:1-56, Judges 6-7

MESSAGE:

The most potent stage of a persons life is his/her youth. It is the stage of knowledge acquisition, experimentation of ideas and exploration of dreams. The fact that you cannot remain young forever should put you on your toes to become all that God has purposed for your life.

The devil knows the strength and potential a youth possesses – this is why he is very keen on getting many of them over to his side. He knows that if he can catch them young, hell be able to disciple them for evil, thereby frustrating the purpose of God for their lives.

Dear child, God has a plan for you and would not want you to waste your destiny on seeking pleasure or vain things. Therefore, you must remember God and allow Him to lead you while you are young. Don’t ever say or think that you will use your youthful years to do worldly things (tagged as enjoyment) and surrender your life to Jesus in your old age. It’s a trap set by the devil to waste your life and stop you from fulfilling purpose. Besides, life is too short to be wasted on frivolities or youthful exuberance. Discover Gods purpose for your life and focus squarely on fulfilling it. Please divert your energy into productive and godly activities.

ACTION POINT:

Serve the Lord now that you can.

HYMN 10: Now We Thank We All Our God

  1. Now thank we all our God
    with heart and hands and voices,
    Who wondrous things hath done,
    in whom His world rejoices;
    Who from our mothers’ arms
    hath blessed us on our way
    with countless gifts of love,
    and still is ours today.
  2. O may this bounteous God
    through all our life be near us,
    with ever joyful hearts
    and blessed peace to cheer us,
    to keep us in His grace,
    and guide us when perplexed,
    and free us from all ills
    of this world and the next.
  3. All praise and thanks to God
    the Father now be given,
    the Son and Him who reigns
    With them in highest heaven
    the One Eternal God,
    whom heaven and earth adore;
    for thus it was, is now,
    and shall be evermore.
