Topic: Who Do You Resemble? [Open Heaven for Teens 1 March 2021]

MEMORISE: But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. – 2 Corinthians 3:18

READ: John 15:3-7

  1. Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.
  2. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

  3. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
  4. If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
  5. If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Numbers 26-27 , Mark 8:22-38

MESSAGE:
In our Bible text for today, Jesus introduced Himself as the Vine. If you read through the gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John), you will discover that Jesus introduced Himself as different things at different times. He once said He is the Way, the Truth and the Life (John 14:6 ). He also said He is the Door (John 10:9 ) et cetera. Jesus knows who He is and He lived what He claimed to be.

It is sad that people claim to be children of God these days, yet, they do not look like God in any way. For instance, Jesus said He is the true Vine and we are the branches. Should there be any difference between the branch and the vine? No, except in size. But some children of God are far from Jesus. If for instance you have a boyfriend or girlfriend, you lie, gossip, fight, keep grudges et cetera, you do not look like your Heavenly Father. However, you can look like Jesus when you study the word of God, spend time to pray and fellowship with the Holy Spirit.

KEY POINT:

You can only resemble Jesus when you spend time with Him.

HYMN 3: All To Jesus I Surrender

  1. All to Jesus I surrender,
    All to Him I freely give;
    I will ever love and trust Him,
    In His presence daily live.

Chorus:
I surrender all,
I surrender all;
All to Thee, my blessed Saviour,
I surrender all.

  1. All to Jesus I surrender,
    Humbly at His feet I bow;
    Worldly pleasures all forsaken,
    Take me, Jesus, take me now.
  2. All to Jesus I surrender,
    Lord, I give myself to Thee;
    Fill me with Thy love and power,
    Let Thy blessing fall on me.
  3. All to Jesus I surrender,
    Now I feel the sacred flame;
    O the joy of full salvation!
    Glory, glory to His name!
