MEMORISE: For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. Philippians 1:21

READ: Philippians 1:20-21

20 According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.

21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 1 Kings 3-5

MESSAGE

As a child of God, you shouldn’t be ashamed of Jesus Christ. You are to flaunt Him every time and everywhere. Imagine your parents just got you the latest gadget, you would flaunt it amongst your friends. The tag ‘Christian’ should be something to be proud of and not one to make you ashamed.

Nothing should stop you from showcasing God. You can represent God in your lifestyle without even talking. Boldness to face anyone and say that you are for Christ is a Confirmation that you have conquered any form of shame with respect to your faith in Christ. Fear brings shame, and as a child of God, you are not to be ashamed in any way.

Beloved, do people intimidate or make you feel less because you declared your faith in Jesus Christ? Turn deaf ears to them from now and let everyone who cares to know be informed that you are a child of God, and you are not ashamed about it.

KEY POINT:

Be intentional about representing Christ an all that He stands for.

HYMN 4 – On A Hill Far Away

  1. On a hill far away
    Stood an old rugged cross,
    The emblem of suffering and shame;
    And I love that old cross
    Where the dearest and best
    For a world of lost sinners was slain.

CHORUS
So I’ll cherish the old rugged cross
Till my trophies at last I lay down;
I will cling to the old rugged cross;
And exchange it someday for a crown.

  1. Oh, that old rugged cross
    So despised by the world,
    Has a wondrous attraction for me;
    For the dear Lamb of God
    Left His glory above,
    To bear it to dark Calvary.
  2. In the old rugged cross,
    Stained with blood so divine,
    A wondrous beauty I see;
    For ’twas on that old cross
    Je-sus suffered and died,
    To par -don and sanc-ti-fy me.
  3. To the old rugged cross
    I will ever be true,
    Its shame and reproach gladly bear;
    Then He’ll call me some day
    To my home far away,
    Where His glory for-ever share
