TOPIC: Always Right? [Open Heaven for Teens 10 March 2021]

MEMORISE: The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise. Proverbs 12:15

READ: Proverbs 21:2

2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD pondereth the hearts.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Deuteronomy 11-13, Mark 13:1-37

MESSAGE:

Life is all about relationships; no man can exist alone. To have good relationships, you need to understand peoples differences and backgrounds. If you do, you will appreciate other peoples opinions on a matter even if it is not in line with your view. This will also stop you from arguing with people or trying to win arguments at all costs.

As a Christian teenager, you must be teachable; be humble enough to learn new things. Accept that your opinions cannot be right at all times. Therefore, if you are one of those who always insist on having their way, you have to stop, otherwise, you will create unnecessary enemies for yourself and make people avoid you. Even the Holy Spirit will stay away from you because He knows you will always argue with Him and insist that things must be done your way.

If you are a leader, have a listening ear. Never assume that you know it all. There are many decisions I would love to take over a matter but I humble myself to listen to divine instructions and advice from godly people. This is one of the secrets of our growth in RCCG.

KEY POINT:
If the Bible could tell us to learn from the ants, then, you can learn good things from godly people around you.

HYMN 9: I AM THINE O LORD

  1. I am Thine O Lord
    I have heard Thy voice
And it told Thy love to me
But I long to rise in the arms of faith
And be closer drawn to Thee.

Chorus:
Draw me nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,
To the cross where Thou hast died;
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer, blessed Lord
To Thy precious, bleeding side.

  1. Consecrate me now to Thy service, Lord
By the pow’r of grace divine
Let my soul look up with a steadfast hope
And my will be lost in Thine.
  2. Oh, the pure delight of a single hour
That before Thy throne I spend
When I kneel in prayer, and with Thee, my God
I commune as friend with friend.
  3. There are depths of love that I cannot know
Till I cross the narrow sea
There are heights of joy that I may not reach
Till I rest in peace with Thee.
