TOPIC: Think Of The Future (Open Heaven for Teens 10 October 2024)

MEMORISE: And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. Colossians 3:17

READ: Colossians 3:25

  1. But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.

MESSAGE:

As a student in the school of Alife who pays attention to details, I can tell you that everything has a past, a present, and a future. However, many people live only for the present under the guise that Jesus said in Matthew 6:34: Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

If you are wise, however, you will realise that there has to be a balance because Jesus asked in Luke 14:28: For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?

My dear child, the future ahead of you is very great. Hence, you need to carefully consider your thoughts, words, and actions now. If you choose to do things wisely and discipline yourself, I can assure you that your future will be bright.

KEY POINT:
Don’t engage in activities that will jeopardise your future.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
Jeremiah 14:11-16:15 1 Thessalonians 2:13

HYMN 58: My Hope Is Built On Nothing Else

  1. My hope is built on nothing less
    Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness;
    I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
    But wholly lean on Jesus’ name.

Refrain:
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand,
All other ground is sinking sand.

  1. When darkness seems to veils His face,
    I rest on His unchanging grace;
    In every high and stormy gale,
    My anchor holds within the veil. [Refrain]
  2. His oath, His covenant, and blood,
    Support me in the whelming flood;
    When all around my soul gives way,
    He then is all my hope and stay. [Refrain]
  3. When He shall come with trumpet sound,
    Oh, may I then in Him be found;
    Dressed in His righteousness alone,
    Faultless to stand before the throne. [Refrain]
