MEMORISE: But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. – Philippians 4:19

READ: Genesis 22:8-13

  1. And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.
  2. And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood.
  3. And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son.
  4. And the angel of the LORD called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I.
  5. And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me.
  6. And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son.

MESSAGE:

The Bible teaches us that God is known by many names. Those names reveal different aspects of His eternal character. One of those names is Jehovah Jireh, which means, ‘The Lord our Provider.’ I remember a time when my wife and I wanted to travel to Lagos from Redemption City, but we couldn’t afford the toll gate fee. As a result, we stayed back at home. As a way of consoling my wife, I told her that perhaps God was preventing us from a fatal accident. Today, the story is different, as we can afford to travel anywhere in the world.

Abraham was a man who was full of faith. He believed that he would never be stranded in life, and he made it clear to his son in today’s Bible reading. When God told me to go into full-time ministry, He asked me to give out all of my gratuity and depend on nothing and no one except Him. That was over four decades ago, and I can testify that He has been faithful to His promise by taking care of me and my household. Indeed, God can and will supply all your needs; you just need to trust Him.

ACTION POINT:

What are the things that you need urgently? Pray to God and ask Him to supply them this week.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR
EZEKIEL 23:1-49, HEBREWS 10:18-39

HYMN 52: There Shall Be Showers Of Blessings

1 “There Shall Be Showers Of Blessing:”
This Is The Promise Of Love;
There Shall Be Seasons Refreshing,
Sent From The Saviour Above.

Refrain:
Showers Of Blessing,
Showers Of Blessing We Need;
Mercy Drops Round Us Are Falling,
But For The Showers We Plead.

2 “There Shall Be Showers Of Blessing“
Precious Reviving Again;
Over The Hills And The Valleys,
Sound Of Abundance Of Rain.

3 “There Shall Be Showers Of Blessing;”
Send Them Upon Us, Oh Lord!
Grant To Us Now A Refreshing;
Come And Now Honour Thy Word.

4 “There Shall Be Showers Of Blessing;”
Oh, That Today They Might Fall,
Now, As To God, We’re Confessing,
Now As On Jesus We Call!

5 “There Shall Be Showers Of Blessing:”
If We But Trust And Obey;
There Shall Be Seasons Refreshing,
If We Let God Have His Way.
