MEMORISE: Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10

READ: Psalms 34:17-19

17 The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.

18 The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.

19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.

MESSAGE

Suicide is a sin because it is self-murder and a one-way ticket to hell; so, my child, it is not allowed. People have suicidal thoughts probably because of loneliness, fear of failure, loss of friendships, fear of being stigmatized, depression, et cetera. Remember that fear is from the devil. You must shun anything that would make you depressed as it is the major driving force behind a great number of suicides in the world today. As a child of God, if you ever have suicidal thoughts, it is the devil at work, and he wants to rob you of your glorious destiny.

The ways to prevent these thoughts in the first place is by not allowing challenges to weigh you down, surrounding yourself with happy people all the time, constantly reading the word of God, singing to God, and just keeping yourself busy with good activities. Therefore, rebuke the devil and hold on to the promises of God, you will realize that the thoughts will disappear. However, if the thoughts remain with you, speak to a mature and godly counsellor.

KEY POINT

Anyone who commits suicide will go to hell

HYMN 19: Jesus Loves Me! This I Know

  1. Jesus loves me! this I know,
    For the Bible tells me so;
    Little ones to Him belong;
    They are weak, but He is strong.

CHORUS
Yes, Jesus loves me,
Yes, Jesus loves me,
Yes, Jesus loves me,
The Bible tells me so.

  1. Jesus loves me He who died,
    Heaven’s gate to open wide,
    He will wash away my sin,
    Let His little child come in.
  2. Jesus loves me, loves me still,
    Tho’ I’m very weak and ill
    From His shining throne on high
    He will watch me where I lie.
  3. Jesus loves me He will stay
    Close beside me all the way,
    If I love Him when I die
    He will take me home on high.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 2 Chronicles 21-24
