TOPIC: Signs Of The End: Disobedience (Open Heaven for Teens 14 July 2024)

MEMORISE: For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king. 1 Samuel 15:23

READ: 1 Samuel 15:22-23

22 And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.

23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.

MESSAGE:

As stated in the bible several, events have been happening around the world, signifying that the second coming of the Lord will be sooner rather than later. For the next few days, I will be considering the signs of the end time as stated in 2 Timothy 3:1-5. Today’s Bible reading passage is quite popular. However, many Christians do not pay attention to the details. If God compared the sin of disobedience to rebellion and witchcraft, I believe that we must pay serious attention to it so as not to be caught in its web.

Many teenagers find it difficult to obey instructions from God or their parents, no matter how simple they are. Their hearts have been caged by the devil, who makes them believe that since God has given humans the free will to choose, they shouldn’t be restricted through instructions. Beloved, the instructions given by your parents or by God (through the Bible) are for your own good. If you obey or disobey them, you will reap the reward.

PRAYER POINT: Father, please help me to always obey Your instructions, in Jesus’ name.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 1 Chronicles 16:37 Romans 2:1-24

HYMN 35: ‘Tis So Sweet To Trust In Jesus

1. ’Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to take Him at His Word;
Just to rest upon His promise;
Just to know, “Thus saith the Lord.”

Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him!
How I’ve proved Him o’er and o’er!
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus!
O for grace to trust Him more!

2. O how sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to trust His cleansing blood;
And in simple faith to plunge me
’Neath the healing, cleansing flood!

3. Yes, ’tis sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just from sin and self to cease;
Just from Jesus simply taking
Life and rest, and joy and peace.

4. I’m so glad I learn’d to trust Thee,
Precious Jesus, Savior, Friend,
And I know that Thou art with me,
Wilt be with me to the end.
