TOPIC: Altar Of Praise [Open Heaven for Teens 14 May 2023]

MEMORISE: Praise waiteth for thee, O God, in Sion: and unto thee shall the vow be performed. Psalms 65:1

READ: 2 Chronicles 5:13-14

13 It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the LORD; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of musick, and praised the LORD, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the LORD;

14 So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of God.

MESSAGE

God inhabits the praises of His people. Anywhere there is genuine praise, He will stay there. If God comes to your house or heart today, will He find praise there or complaints? If He comes and He meets complaints, He will not stay. In the Same way you will not want to stay around people who always complain, God will not stay in an environment full of complaints.

Do you think Solomon would have gotten a blank cheque from God if all he did was to complain about how he would rule the kingdom his father left for him? (1 Kings 3:4-5.) Do you know that when God looks down from Heaven upon the earth, He is looking for people praising Him in spirit and truth? Those who are close to me know that as I go about my activities throughout the day, I am always singing praises to God so that He will always find praise when He looks in my direction because I want Him to always be with me.

HYMN 10 – Praise, My Soul, The King Of Heaven

  1. Praise, my soul, the King of heaven;
    To His feet your tribute bring.
    Ransom’d, heal’d, restor’d, forgiven,
    Who like thee His praises should sing?
    Praise Him! Praise Him!
    Praise the everlasting King!
  2. Praise Him for His grace and favor
    To our fathers in distress.
    Praise Him, still the same as ever,
    Slow to chide, and swift to bless.
    Praise Him! Praise Him!
    Glorious in His faithfulness!
  3. Father-like He tends and spares us; Well our feeble frame He knows.
    In His hands He gently bears us,
    Rescues us from all our foes.
    Praise Him! Praise Him!
    Widely yet His mercy flows!
  4. Angels, help us to adore Him; Ye behold Him face to face.
    Sun and moon, bow down before Him,
    Dwellers all in time and space.
    Praise Him! Praise Him!
    Praise with us the God of grace!
