TOPIC: When Prayers Fail [Open Heaven for Teens 15 April 2021]
MEMORISE: Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. Psalms 100:4
READ: Psalms 67:5-7
- Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee.
- Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us.
- God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 1 Samuel 17-18, Luke 15:1-32
MESSAGE:
Are you confused about a matter to the extent that you don’t know what else to do? If you have prayed and it seems that God is on snooze, I encourage you today to try praise. Many years ago, at a wedding ceremony somewhere in Nigeria, the groom danced so much but just before he got to the altar, he slumped and died. The whole place was thrown into pandemonium. The pastors gathered around him and prayed. After 30 minutes of no result, the Holy Spirit inspired one of them to tell the others to start praising God. It sounded strange but they obeyed and after 10 minutes of intense praise, the groom sneezed and came back to life.

One way to provoke amazing miracles in all areas of your life is through praise. God is always happy when His children hail Him from their hearts, then, He moves in response to their situations. I always tell my children that when prayers fail, try praise.
KEY POINT:
You can pray amiss but you cannot praise amiss.
HYMN: Let Others See Jesus In You
- While passing through this
world of sin,
And others your
life shall view,
Be clean and pure
without, within,
Let others see Jesus in you.
CHORUS
Let others see Jesus in you,
Let others see Jesus in you;
Keep telling the story,
be faithful and true,
Let others see Jesus in you.
- Your life’s a book beforetheir eyes,
They’re reading it through and through;
Say, does it point them to the skies,
Do others see Jesus in you? - What joy ’twill be at set of sun,
In mansions beyond the blue,
To find some souls
that you have won;
Let others see Jesus in you. - Then live for Christ both
day and night,
Be faithful, be brave, and true,
And lead the lost to life and light;
Let others see Jesus in you.
