TOPIC: Jesus, The Slain Lamb [Open Heaven for Teens 15 April 2022]

MEMORISE: The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. John 1:29

READ: Philippians 3:20-21 (KJV)

  1. For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:
  2. Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Luke 15:1-32 , 1 Samuel 17-18

MESSAGE:

One remarkable thing about my Lord Jesus was that He had to die for sins He never committed. He bore the sins of the whole world and offered Himself as a sacrificial lamb. Why? Hebrews 9:22 explains that except blood (which is life) is shed, no sin will be forgiven. In other words, except something dies to replace the sinner, he/she will die for his/her own sins. Jesus died to shed His blood for your sins. He suffered shame, mockery, pain and ultimate death for our sake.

Another reason for Jesus’ death is the law of harvest. God understands that the quality of your harvest is determined by the quality of your seed, so because He wanted more children, He gave up His only begotten Son (John 3:16 ). Had He sent angels, He would not have felt the pain of losing His Son, but He gave His special gift that would connect His heart to the harvest – His adopted children. Jesus volunteered to die in your place to show the devil how special you are to God. If you are yet to be born again, it means you don’t appreciate that sacrifice of His. Appreciate His love by surrendering your life to Him today.

PRAYER POINT:

Lord Jesus, thank You for dying for me and taking away my sins. Thank You for the hope of eternal life.

HYMN: In Christ Alone

  1. In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song
    This Cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My Comforter, my All in All
  2. In Christ alone, who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save
‘Til on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
  3. There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory
Sin’s curse has lost its grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of
  4. No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life’s first cry to final breath
    Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
Till He returns or calls me home
