Luke 21:34-36

MESSAGE:
To watch and pray means to be awake and on guard so that sin will not catch one unawares. It also means that one has a constant connection with God. As God’s child, you must be watchful and prayerful because Satan roams to and fro as a roaring lion looking for whom to eat as a meal; he looks out for opportunities to strike God’s children. His whole desire is to turn you away from following and obeying God. Therefore, you must not let down your guard.
Satan executes his plans mainly by distracting you. For instance, if you have many friends who don’t understand spiritual matters – they wonder why you fast, pay tithe and pray constantly, you would need to be watchful to know, then stand if you don’t dissociate yourself from them. Before long, you would start questioning your beliefs and eventually, maybe even join them. Be watchful!
When you watch and pray, you will receive the grace to resist the devil, fix your gaze on Jesus and live a victorious life. Its only by the power of God you can overcome and I pray that you will overcome always in Jesus name.

Father, please strengthen my inner man to watch and pray.
