Topic: BEWARE OF DECEIVERS [Open Heaven for Teens 16 February 2021]
MEMORISE: All Scripture is given by inspiration of God and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 2 Timothy 3:16
READ: 2 Timothy 3:1-8
1 But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days.
2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy,
3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good,

4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God
5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them.
6 They are the kind who worm their way into homes and gain control over weak-willed women, who are loaded down with sins and are swayed by all kinds of evil desires,
7 always learning but never able to acknowledge the truth.
8 Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so also these men oppose the truth—men of depraved minds, who, as far as the faith is concerned, are rejected.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Leviticus 22-23; Mark 1:1-22
MESSAGE:
A deceiver is one who practises deceit as a means of misleading. or giving a false impression to people. Deceivers also intentionally impose false ideas on their victims in order to confuse or mislead them from the original plan God has for them. Deception is a powerful tool in the hands of the devil to mislead the children of God from the right path. It is also used to create doubt in the minds of God’s children on Biblical doctrines and existence of God.
Our Bible text for today makes us to understand that this is a sign of the end time, so, we are in the end time, Christ will soon come back to take the saints home. There are however, false prophets and fake pastors who are ready to reduce the number of saints and it is not difficult to identify them. Any pastor who lives an immoral lifestyle, supports ungodliness, preaches heresy (anything contrary to what is written in the Bible) is a deceiver. My child, the word of God should be your standard; study it and follow it so that you don’t fall prey to deceivers.
KEY POINT:
You can only identify fake when you have or know the original
HYMN 7: Christian, Seek Not Yet Repose
- Christian, seek not yet repose
Hear thy gracious Savior say;
Thou art in the midst of foes:
Watch and pray. - Principalities and power
Mustering their unseen array
Wait for the unguarded hours:
Watch and pray - Gird the heavenly armor on,
Wear it ever night and day;
Ambushed lies the evil one:
Watch and pray. - Hear the victors who o’ercame,
Still they mark each warrior’s way;
All with one sweet voice exclaim,
Watch and pray. - Hear, above all, hear thy Lord,
Him thou loves to obey;
Hide within thy heart His word:
Watch and pray. - Watch, as if on that alone
Hung the issue of the day;
Pray, that help may be sent down:
Watch and pray.
