READ: 1 Corinthians 9:24-25

24 Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.

25 And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Numbers 22-24

MESSAGE:

Before God can help a fellow, he/she must have played his/her role. For instance, the Holy Spirit cannot remind you of what you have not read, so you must have read and revised your books before He can remind you in an examination hall. In the same vein, if you want Him to help you overcome every temptation that comes your way, you must dissociate yourself from every object/person who aids the temptation.

As a student, your effort will only be crowned with success when you have burned the midnight candle. You must study diligently, then God’s help will come in form of revealing to you areas to concentrate on while studying, reminding you of what you have read while writing the examination, ensuring that you receive favour from the examiner marking your scripts, et cetera. You must do your best so that you can be at the top. Don’t be like some people who use Christianity as an excuse to remain average. You can be excellent in your home, school, neighbourhood, church, et cetera. However, ensure that you do everything
“as unto the Lord”.
