MEMORISE: Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside hisbody, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body. 1 Corinthians 6:18

READ: 1 Corinthians 6:15-20

15 Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ himself? Shall I then take the members of Christ and unite them with a prostitute? Never!

16 Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, “The two will become one flesh.”

17 But he who unites himself with the Lord is one with him in spirit.

18 Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside hisbody, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body.

19 Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;

20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Leviticus 24-25; Mark 1:23-45

MESSAGE:

No doubt, all the sins that humans commit are against God. While some sins are directly against those living with us or around us, the sin of fornication is against oneself. Your body is a tool given to you by God and one day. you will give account of how you used it. As a child of God, from the moment you gave your life to Christ, your body became the temple of God – every part of it.

Hence, fornication is a grave sin because it is a total abuse of the temple of God. For instance, you live in a house where there is a special plate reserved for Daddy. Then a cousin comes for the holidays in your house and in your presence, uses the plate to serve leftover food to your dog. What will happen when Mummy finds out? She will be very angry and leave the plate for the dog’s use or throw it away. When you have sex outside marriage, you commit the same offence as that cousin. This act destroys the temple of God and anyone that destroys the temple of God, will see His wrath. Ask for mercy if you are guilty and flee presence, uses fornication henceforth.

Key Point:

Honour God with every part of your body

Hymn 10: I Can Hear My Saviour Calling

  1. I Can Hear My Saviour Calling
I can hear my Saviour call-ing,
I can hear my Saviour call-ing,
I can hear my Saviour call-ing,
“Take thy cross and fol-Iow, fol- low Me.”

Chorus:
Where He leads me I will follow,
Where He leads me I will follow,
Where He leads me I will follow,
I’ll go with Him, with Him all the way.

  1. I’ll go with Him through the garden,
I’ll go with Him through the garden,
I’ll go with Him through the garden,
I’ll go with Him, with Him all the way.
  2. I’ll go with Him through the judgment,
I’ll go with Him through the judgment,
I’ll go with Him through the judgment,
I’ll go with Him, with Him all the way.
  3. He will give me grace and glory,
He will give me grace and glory,
He will give me grace and glory,
And go with me, with me all the way.
