TOPIC: The Ideal Location [Open Heaven for Teens 17 November 2021]

MEMORISE: Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. John 4:21

READ: John 4:20-24

  1. Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.
  2. Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.
  3. Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.
  4. But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
  5. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Ezekiel 16:1-63, Hebrews 12:1-29

MESSAGE:

Today, it is becoming the norm for parents to visit Prayer Mountains and also encourage their children to follow suit. Some Christians believe they can’t hear God unless they go to a certain mountain or attend a huge programme. Its perfectly in order to pray on mountains like Jesus did, He even resorted to going to the deserts in order to avoid distractions while He fellowshipped with God, His Father. However, our Bible reading has shown us a perfect venue for worship. Jesus told the Samaritan woman that there was no need to travel all the way to a mountain to worship God like her ancestors did.

God expects worship to be done in Spirit and in truth, not on Prayer Mountains. There is a special experience attached to a personal relationship with God in privacy and this has nothing to do with a specific location. Therefore, to offer acceptable worship unto God, free your heart of defilement because your heart is the real location for worship. Only then will you receive answers to your prayers.

PRAYER POINT:

Develop a personal altar for God in your heart and in your room where you can reach Him daily.

HYMN: All To Jesus I Surrender

  1. All to Jesus I surrender,
    All to Him I freely give;
    I will ever love and trust Him,
    In His presence daily live

CHORUS
I surrender all, I surrender all;
All to Thee, my blessed Savior,
I surrender all.

  1. All to Jesus I surrender,
    Humbly at His feet I bow;
    Worldly pleasures all forsaken,
    Take me, Jesus, take me now.
  2. All to Jesus I surrender,
    Lord, I give myself to Thee;
    Fill me with Thy love and power,
    Let Thy blessing fall on me.
  3. All to Jesus I surrender,
    Now I feel the sacred flame;
    O the joy of full salvation!
    Glory, glory to His name!
