MESSAGE:

I’m sure you are familiar with the story of Paul and Silas. They were imprisoned for casting out the spirit of divination from a girl who made a great deal of money for her master. The master incited people against them and they were sued to court. The magistrate then handed them to a jailer after having them beaten. Thereafter, were put in stocks and thrown into the inner prison.

Let’s even assume that a jail break was planned. If they could have removed the chains, would they have been able to escape through the gates? Mind you child, this is not an action movie or a stunt. It wouldn’t have been possible. Their only weapon, having read how the wall of Jericho collapsed before Joshua and how Jehoshaphat won a battle against three kings, was praise. This they did and the prison doors opened of their own accord.
What have you prayed about for so long that seems as though the answer is not forthcoming? Try praise, it is a sure weapon against the enemy. It can never fail because God Himself comes down when there is praise (Psalms 22:3).

ACTION POINT:

Don’t make any request today; just praise God.

HYMN: ‘Tis So Sweet To Trust In Jesus

  1. ‘Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,
    Just to take him at his word;
    Just to rest upon His promise,
    Just to know, “Thus saith the Lord.

CHORUS
Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him!
How I’ve proved him o’er and o’er!
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus!
O for grace to trust him more!

  1. O how sweet to trust in Jesus,
    Just to trust His cleansing blood;
    Just in simple faith to plunge me
    ’Neath the healing, cleansing flood!
  2. Yes, ’tis sweet to trust in Jesus,
    just from sin and self to cease;
    just from Jesus simply taking
    life and rest, and joy and peace.
  3. I’m so glad I learn’d to trust Thee,
    Precious Jesus, Saviour, Friend,
    And I know that Thou art with me,
    Wilt be with me to the end.
