2 Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;)
3 That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.
MESSAGE
There are several examples of people in the world today who became outstanding, not through the conventional route of education, but by following their passions or callings. Some had confrontations with their parents and went against their wishes, while some who were not born with silver spoons found their way to the top by taking risks and experimenting in different fields.
My dear child, when your parents object to your dreams, don’t argue with them: rather, pray that God will make them see what He is placing in your heart. If it is His will that they insist, rest assured that God is planning something big for you in that field.
I remember when I told my Father in the Lord that we wanted to hold an outreach in a state in the Middle Belt of Nigeria, he objected and advised me to do it in a southwestern state. I reluctantly obeyed, and at the end of the programme, the king of the town we held the outreach in gave me an unusual blank cheque to request for acres of land for our church. Today, Redeemer’s University and Redeemer’s School of Missions are sitting on that land.
PRAYER POINT
Remain teachable and submissive to your parents.
