TOPIC: How Is Your Giving? [Open Heaven for Teens 18 March 2024]

MEMORISE: Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come. 1 Corinthians 16:2

READ: 2 Corinthians 9:6-10

6 But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.

7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:

9 (As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth for ever.

10 Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;)

MESSAGE

You are not too young to be faithful in giving to God Believe me, if you are not faithful to God with your finances, He will not trust you with greater blessings (Luke 16:11).

To be faithful with your finances is to give to God regularly, not just when you feel like it. The same way you cannot debate whether to buy food or not; you should not debate whether to give to God or not. Therefore, make sure there is a plan for the amount you want to give to God every month. Set aside a certain amount you give as an offering at every service and be consistent with it. Pay your tithe regularly – ten per cent of what you earn is the minimum amount. However, if God has blessed you greatly, you can give more.

Beloved, don’t be carried away by fake doctrines on giving. The earlier you cultivate the habit of giving, the better for you.

REFLECTION:

Are you faithful in giving to God?

HYMN 17 – There Shall Be Showers Of Blessing

1. There shall be showers of blessing”
This is the promise of love;
There shall be season refreshing
Send from a savior above

CHORUS
Showers of blessing
Showers of blessing we need;
Mercy drop round are falling
But for the showers we plead.

2. ”There shall be showers of blessing”
Precious reviving again;
Over the hills and the valleys;
Sound of abundance of rain.

3. ”There shall be showers of blessing”
Send them upon us Oh Lord!
Grant to us a refreshing;
Come now and honour Thy Word.

4. ”There shall be showers of blessing”
Oh, that today thy might fall,
Now as to God we are confessing,
Now as on Jesus we call!

5. ”There shall be showers of blessing”
If we but trust and obey;
There shall be season refreshing,
If we let God have his way.
