OPEN HEAVEN FOR TEENS
DATE: SATURDAY 20TH OF AUGUST, 2022.
THEME: HELPED BY MERCY
MEMORISE: So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy. Romans 9:16
16. So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.
17. For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth.
18. Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth.
MESSAGE:
A vibrant young boy used to go about his campus preaching the gospel and confronting all who were demon-possessed. He used to say that if one needed a miracle, all the fellow needed to do was to just bind the demon obstructing it, cast it out and all would be well. A few years later, he got married and when the time of his wife’s labour started, he brought her to one of our maternity centres. After several bindings and castings, the baby just wouldn’t come. He then ran to the back of the building, went on his knees and cried, “God, please have mercy on me.” Less than 15 minutes later, he heard the cry of his newborn. I pray for you today that God will have mercy on you too, in Jesus’ name.
Only mercy qualifies a boy or girl to become great. I am living proof of God’s mercy because I rose from being a village boy to become what I am today. If a human being had been in charge of wealth distribution, luck may never have shone on my lineage because my dad was considered the poorest amongst the poor but God’s mercy found me and turned it all around. Dear child, are there areas of your life that need God’s mercy and help? I pray that God will come through for you speedily, in Jesus’ name.
PRAYER POINT
Father, please have mercy and send help to me.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
1 Corinthians 2:1-16 , Psalms 116-118
HYMN: JUST AS I AM
1. Just as I am, without one plea,
but that Thy blood was shed for me,
and that Thou bidst me come to Thee,
Oh Lamb of God, I come, I come.
2. Just as I am, and waiting not
to rid my soul of one dark blot,
to Thee, whose blood can cleanse each spot,
Oh Lamb of God, I come, I come.
3. Just as I am, though tossed about
with many a conflict, many a doubt,
fightings and fears within, without,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.
4. Just as I am poor, wretched, blind
Sight, riches, healing of the mind
Yea, all I need, in Thee to find
Oh Lamb of God I come,
5. Just as I am, Thou wilt receive,
wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve;
because Thy promise I believe,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.
6. Just as I am Thy love unknown
Has broken every barrier down;
Now to be Thine, yea Thine alone,
Oh Lamb of God I come, I come.
7. Just as I am, of that free love,
The breadth, length, depth and
height to prove,
Here for a season, then above,
Oh Lamb of God I come, I come.
