TOPIC: Eternity (Open Heaven for Teens, 20 March 2025)

MEMORISE: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 1 Thessalonians 4:17

BIBLE READING: 1 Thessalonians 4:15-18

15 What we are teaching you now is the Lord’s teaching: we who are alive on the day the Lord comes will not go ahead of those who have died.

16 There will be the shout of command, the archangel’s voice, the sound of God’s trumpet, and the Lord himself will come down from heaven. Those who have died believing in Christ will rise to life first;

17 then we who are living at that time will be gathered up along with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will always be with the Lord.

18 So then, encourage one another with these words.

MESSAGE:

To some, eternity seems like a far off idea that should not be given much thought. However, it is a reality you must not lose sight of. You need to ask yourself, “Where will l spend eternity?” God has provided answers to this question in the Bible because He does not want eternity and the events surrounding it to take anyone unawares.

My dear child, do not let the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches blur your vision of the place Christ has prepared for you. Eternity is real, and where a person will spend eternity will be determined by the way he or she lives in this present world (Romans 2:3-10). The place Christ has prepared for you is a place where there is no death or sorrow; it is a place of joy and pleasant experience. (Revelation 21:1-7). On the other hand, there is another place where whoever rejects God’s grace in Christ will spend eternity; it is a place of everlasting fire and pain. May you not be found there, in Jesus’ name. To ensure that you do not find yourself in the place of everlasting fire and pain, you need to give your life to Christ today if you haven’t done so. If you are already born again, you need to live a holy life and remain eternity-minded.

REFLECTION:
Where will you spend eternity?

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
Numbers 30:1-31:54, Luke 4:1-30

HYMN: 62 – On A Hill Far Away Stood An Old Rugged Cross

1 On a hill far away
Stood an old rugged cross,
The emblem of suffering and shame;
And I love that old cross slain.
Where the dearest and best
For a world of lost sinners was

Chorus:
So I’ll cherish the old rugged cross,
Till my trophies at last I lay down;
I will cling to the old rugged cross,
And exchange it some day for a crown.

2 0 that old rugged cross,
So despised by the world,
Has a wondrouS attraction for me;
For the dear Lamb of God
Left His glory above
To bear it to dark Calvary

3 In the old rugged cross,
Stained with blood so divine,
A wondrous beauty I see,
For ’twas on that old cross
Jesus suffered and died,
To pardon and sanctify me.

4 To the old rugged cross
I will ever be true,
Its shamne and reproach gladly bear;
Then He’ll call me some day
To my home far away,
Where his glory forever l’Il share.
