READ: 1 Chronicles 4:9-10

  1. And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow.
  2. And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.

MESSAGE:

God never wants the enemy to rejoice over His children. Therefore, those who rejoice whenever you find yourself in negative circumstances will have their rejoicing short-lived because God will cause them to be disappointed.

A person who is not dead cannot be buried, so no matter how bad your situation is, as long as you are still living, there is hope for you. If you have fallen, you will rise again. The story in today’s Bible reading is about a man called Jabez, which means ‘sorrowful’ in Hebrew. The Bible records that because he was born out of sorrow, his mother gave him that name.

Despite being a child of sorrow, he found favour in the sight of God. I pray that every name of mockery the enemy may have been calling you will be changed for good today, in Jesus’ name.

Beloved, your painful situation is not the end of the road for you. Regardless of the name the enemy has called you, God will give you victory over your enemies, in Jesus’ name.

PRAYER POINT:
Father, please silence every mocker in my life, in Jesus’ name.
