TOPIC: The Role Of The Holy Spirit (Open Heaven for Teens, 21 February 2025)

MEMORISE: Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. John 16:13

BIBLE READING: John 16:7-14 (KJV)

7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

Open Heaven merchandise

9 Of sin, because they believe not on me;

10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;

11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.

12 I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.

13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

MESSAGE:

A very important role of the Holy Spirit is the conviction of sin, as we read in today’s Bible reading. Unfortunately, many people seldom allow the Holy Spirit to play His role of bringing them to repentance as they refuse to be remorseful for their sins.

When people refuse to be convicted of their sins, they demonstrate a lack of faith in God’s word. Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” Regardless of the different fancy names given to immoral acts nowadays to make them seem okay, they are all still classified as sins.

Beloved, don’t be like those who refuse to yield to the Holy Spirit. If you are yet to confess and forsake your sins, do not harden your heart when the Holy Spirit convicts you of them. Allow Him to transform you from within.

PRAYER POINT:
Holy Spirit, please come into my heart today and change me from within.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
Leviticus 11:1-12:8, Mark 5:21-43

HYMN: 33 – Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah!

1 Guide me, O Thou Great Jehovah!
Pilgrim through this barren land;
I am weak, but Thou art mighty,
Hold me with Thy powerful hand:
Bread of heaven! Bread of heaven!
Feed me now and evermore,
Feed me now and evermore.

2 Open Thou the crystal fountain,
Whence the healing stream doth flow:
Let the fiery, cloudy pillar,
Lead me all my journey through:
Strong deliverer! Strong deliverer!
Be Thou still my strength and shield,
Be Thou still my strength and shield.

3 If I tread the verge of Jordan,
Bid my anxious fears subside:
Bear me through the swelling torrent,
Land me safe on Canaan’s side:
Songs of praises! Song of praises!
I will ever give to Thee,
I will ever give to Thee.

4 Saviour, come! we long to see Thee,
Long to dwell with Thee above;
And to know in full communion,
All the sweetness of Thy love,
Come, Lord Jesus! Come Lord Jesus!
Take Thy waiting people home,
Take Thy waiting people home.
