READ: John 14:26

26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 2 Corinthians 12:1-21

MESSAGE:

Many enter into covenant with God without fulfilling their part. There is the story of a brother, who used to be a drunk; he gave his life to Christ and was invited by God into a covenant- his part was never to drink anything in a bottle. Till date, he pours water and drinks into a cup before drinking. This is to assist him to get to heaven and not go back to the sin of alcoholism. If you see that brother play out this new lifestyle before you consistently, you may be confused about his decision. You are likely to even ask Is it in the Bible?

My dear, some things are not spelt out in the Bible but this is where the Holy Spirit comes in. When Jesus ascended after His resurrection, He promised that God would send us the Holy Spirit who will teach us ALL things and remind us of the instructions Jesus had given (John 14:26). If the Holy Spirit restrains you from talking, behaving or dressing in a particular way, don’t be adamant to do otherwise because others are doing it or it doesn’t look like sin. Obey the promptings of the Holy Spirit.

KEY POINT:
The Christian race is individual, mind your track.

HYMNS: I Am Thine O Lord

  1. I am Thine, O Lord,
    I have heard Thy voice,
    And it told Thy love to me;
    But I long to rise
    in the arms of faith
    And be closer drawn to Thee.

CHORUS
Draw me nearer,
nearer blessed Lord,
To the cross where Thou hast died;
Draw me nearer, nearer,
nearer blessed Lord,
To Thy precious, bleeding side.

  1. Consecrate me now to Thy
    service, Lord,
    By the pow’r of grace divine;
    Let my soul look up with a
    steadfast hope,
    And my will be lost in Thine.
  2. Oh, the pure delight
    of a single hour
    That before Thy throne I spend,
    When I kneel in prayer,
    and with Thee, my God
    I commune as friend
    with friend!
  3. There are depths of love that I
    cannot know
    Till I cross the narrow sea;
    There are heights of joy
    that I may not reach
    Till I rest in peace with Thee.
