35 And the children of Israel did according to the word of Moses; and they borrowed of the Egyptians jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment:

36 And the LORD gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they lent unto them such things as they required. And they spoiled the Egyptians.

MESSAGE

I once got stuck in traffic in Yaba Lagos, en route to one of my morning ministrations. There was no escape route, and the urgency required that I got to the church in less than 30 minutes. Suddenly, a madman jumped in front of my car, hit the car’s bonnet, and beckoned on my driver to follow him. He stood in the middle of the T-junction and pointed cars in different directions. Surprisingly, in less than 10 minutes, the traffic was cleared. I made it to church in good time.

God can use anything and anyone to help you, even if they are your enemies. In Genesis 39, God turned the evil plot of Joseph’s brothers around for good. For the Israelites in our Bible text, the Egyptians who had enslaved them for 430 years became willing to give them everything they needed for their journey to the Promised Land.

Dear child, are you feeling dejected that people hate you or are unwilling to help you? Cheer up and take the matter to God in prayers. He will favour you, send help to you, and cause people to ease your burdens.

PRAYER POINT:

Father, please let all my helpers become restless until they help me reach the top in Jesus’ name.
