Blood is so sacred that the Bible says that anyone who sheds blood will also have his or her bloodshed (Genesis 9:6). In the Scriptures the first time we saw God being angry with someone who shed the blood of another fellow is in Genesis 4, where Cain murdered his brother, Abel. God told Cain that the ground which accepted the blood of his brother had cursed him (Genesis 4:10-11).
The sacredness of blood can be further seen in today’s memory verse. The life of the flesh is in the blood, and that is why the blood of Jesus can make atonement for our sins and redeem us from the eternal damnation that awaits all sinners.
Many teenagers have shown complete disregard for the sacredness of blood by engaging in abortion; God is not pleased with such teenagers. Aside from the danger of death during or after the act, there’s also the danger of hell.
My dear child, don’t joke with fire. Do not engage in any sin that might lead you to ever consider an abortion. If you are a young lady who has already gotten pregnant by mistake, or a young man who has already gotten a lady pregnant by mistake, do not consider an abortion; instead, seek guidance from an older person who you know to be a good Christian. If you have already engaged in an abortion, ask God for forgiveness, seek godly counsel, and desist from sin.
KEY POINT:
Never engage in abortion.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
Leviticus 13:1-59, Mark 6:1-29
HYMN 12: Onward Christian Soldiers
1 Onward, Christian soldiers,
marching as to War,
With the cross of Jesus going on before!
Christ, the royal Master, leads against the foe;
Forward into battle, see his banner go!
Refrain:
Onward, Christian soldiers, marching as to war,
With the cross of Jesus going on before!
2 At the name of Jesus
Satan’s host doth flee;
On, then, Christian soldiers,
on to victory!
Hell’s foundations quiver
at the shout of praise;
Brothers, lift your voices,
loud your anthems raise!
3 Like a mighty army
moves the church of God:
Brothers, we are treading
where the saints have trod;
We are not divided; all one body we,
One in hope and doctrine, one in charity.
4 Crowns and thrones may perish,
Kingdoms rise and wane;
But the church Jesus constant will remain:
Gates of hell can never
‘gainst that church prevail
We have Christ’s own promise
and that cannot fail
5 Onward, then, ye people,
join our happy throng,
Blend with ours your voices,
in the triumph song;
Glory, praise and honour,
unto Christ the King;
This through countless ages,
men and angels sing.
