MEMORISE: For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned. Matthew 12:37

READ: Matthew 12:36-37

  1. But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
  2. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 2 Corinthians 13:1-14

MESSAGE:

On the judgment day, we will not only be assessed on what we achieved but also by all we said while on earth. There is a word register containing all the words you spoke about your neighbours, friends or enemies, in reaction to different situations; your jokes, flatteries, exaggerations, rumours, gossip will also be documented in that register. Bad words will condemn the speaker while good words will justify the fellow. Check yourself now to know if all the words you’ve spoken in the last one month will justify or condemn you. If Jesus was careful in speech while on earth, how much more you. He said:

“Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world (the devil) cometh, and hath nothing in me.” John 14:30

So, if you don’t want your words to testify against you on the last day, be mindful of them.

PRAYER POINT:

Father, help me to tame my tongue and let me speak only good words henceforth.

HYMN: All To Jesus I Surrender

  1. All to Jesus I surrender,
    All to Him I freely give;
    I will ever love and trust Him,
    In His presence daily live

CHORUS
I surrender all, I surrender all;
All to Thee, my blessed Savior,
I surrender all.

  1. All to Jesus I surrender,
    Humbly at His feet I bow;
    Worldly pleasures all forsaken,
    Take me, Jesus, take me now.
  2. All to Jesus I surrender,
    Lord, I give myself to Thee;
    Fill me with Thy love and power,
    Let Thy blessing fall on me.
  3. All to Jesus I surrender,
    Now I feel the sacred flame;
    O the joy of full salvation!
    Glory, glory to His name!
