TOPIC: Your Approach Matters [Open Heaven for Teens 24 April 2023]

MEMORISE: Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. Psalms 100:4

READ: Psalms 100:1-4

1 (A Psalm of praise.) Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.
2 Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
3 Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.

MESSAGE

To enter God’s presence, you must follow Heaven’s protocol; don’t just crash in. Let your heart and your mouth be filed with thanks for all that God in your life, family and for your loved ones. When you approach God for your needs, let Him first hear your thanksgiving, follow that with quality praise and worship, and then your requests can come last.

Thanksgiving and praises should take more of your time, not your requests. This is also proven in Matthew 8:1-3 when the leper reverenced God first before making his request.

Just like the Yoruba adage says,” If you give thanks for yesterday’s favour, you will receive another one.” When you show gratitude for a kind gesture done to you in the past, you are likely to get another one. It is the same with God; don’t make another request without thanking Him for previous favours (blessings). Always enter His gates with thanksgiving.

To get answers to your requests, follow Heaven’s protocol from now on.
