TOPIC: Lacking Peace? [Open Heaven for Teens 24 May 2023]

MEMORISE: And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7

READ: John 14:27-30

27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

28 Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.

29 And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe.

30 Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.

MESSAGE

Peace is a state of harmony between the mind, soul, and body, made available to God’s children through a right relationship with Him and with fellow humans. Peace is associated with the presence of the Prince of Peace – Jesus. You know that God is with you when you have peace in your heart despite troubling situations around you. The absence of peace in a person’s life leads to worries or anxiety. It is not God’s will for His children to live in worry and distress over present or future challenges.

Beloved, worrying about a thing would not change the situation; it might cause sickness, and this is a snare of the devil. For you to experience peace in the face of challenges and difficulties, invite Jesus. Once Jesus is in your situation, rest assured the problem will be solved, and your peace will be restored.

KEY POINT

Father, let your peace that passes all understanding reign in my heart, family ad country, in Jesus’ name.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Nehemiah 11-13

HYMN 13 – Pass Me Not, O Gentle Saviour

  1. Pass me not, O gentle Saviour,
    Hear my humble cry;
    While on others Thou art calling,
    Do not pass me by.

CHORUS
Saviour Saviour,
Hear my humble cry;
While on others Thou art calling,
Do not pass me by.

  1. Let me, at Thy throne of mercy
    Find a sweet relief;
    Kneeling there in deep contrition,
    Help my unbelief.
  2. Trusting only in Thy merit
    Would I seek Thy face
    Heal my wounded, broken spirit,
    Save me by Thy grace.
  3. Thou, the spring of all my comfort,
    More than life to me.
    Whom have I on earth beside Thee?
    Whom in heaven but Thee
