READ: Judges 16:18-21

  1. And when Delilah saw that he had told her all his heart, she sent and called for the lords of the Philistines, saying, Come up this once, for he hath showed me all his heart. Then the lords of the Philistines came up unto her, and brought money in their hand.
  2. And she made him sleep upon her knees; and she called for a man, and she caused him to shave off the seven locks of his head; and she began to afflict him, and his strength went from him.
  3. And she said, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he awoke out of his sleep, and said, I will go out as at other times before, and shake myself. And he wist not that the LORD was departed from him.
  4. But the Philistines took him, and put out his eyes, and brought him down to Gaza, and bound him with fetters of brass; and he did grind in the prison house.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Psalms 124-127, 1 Corinthians 7:1-40

MESSAGE:

When Satan wants to get a boy or girl, he sets an attractive trap before him or her but the end is destruction.

Samson was a Nazarite from childhood, his birth was preceded by prophecies. As he grew, he was drawn to the things God commanded him not to do and he kept relating with the Philistines who were Gods enemies. Whenever his parents corrected him or reminded him of the instructions they were given before his birth, Samson would rebuff. He fell in love with a girl, Delilah; unknown to him, she was a form of bait. Samson was the strongest in the world at that time, he terrorised the Philistines so much that they began to devise all means to overcome him. Delilah worked.

The instructions given by God in His word are not for Him but for your own safety and well-being in this dubious world. When the Bible says, thou shall not steal, and you choose to do otherwise, be ready to bear the consequences. Don’t be like Samson, the powerful who became a foolish judge and lost his eyes as a result of lust of the eyes. I pray for you that you wont become meat for the devil in Jesus name.

PRAYER POINT:

Write down your weaknesses and ask the Holy Spirit for help today.

HYMN: What Can Wash Away My Stain?

  1. What can wash away my stain?
    Nothing but the blood of Jesus;
    What can make me whole again?
    Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

CHORUS
Oh! precious is the flow,
That makes me white as snow!
No other fount I know;
Nothing but the blood of Jesus!

  1. For my cleansing this I see?
    Nothing but
    the blood of Jesus;
    For my pardon, this my plea ?
    Nothing but the blood of Jesus!
  2. Nothing can for sin atone,
    Nothing but the blood of Jesus;
    Naught of good that
    I have done;
    Nothing but the blood of Jesus!
  3. This is all my hope and peace,
    Nothing but the blood of Jesus!
    This is all my righteousness,
    Nothing but the blood of Jesus!
