MESSAGE:

Dealing with emotional pain is one of the toughest things to do. Physical pain is easy to heal because you can see where it hurts but emotional pain isn’t easy to heal because you can’t see it. It’s alright to feel the hurt deeply, but don’t be toughened up. Allow God to give you a new perspective about that situation. Usually, He will do this through His word which is His comprehensive instrument for changing lives; God’s word is the most potent when it comes to overcoming emotional pain and traumas.

When I was younger, I was disappointed by some elderly Christians who were supposed to be mentors. I almost backslid until God told me He’d never let me down. Indeed, His word gives comfort and strength to move on. Today’s Bible reading encourages us to let go of unpleasant situations because God knows why He allows certain things to happen to His children. Have you been disappointed by someone in the past? My dear, let it go. Let the joy of the Lord be your strength.

PRAYER POINT:

Father, please heal me of every pain in my heart and help me to forget every hurt.

HYMN: I’VE FOUND A FRIEND IN JESUS

  1. I’ve found a friend in Jesus, He’s everything to me,
    He’s the fairest of ten thousand to my soul;
    The Lily of the Valley, in Him alone I see
    All I need to cleanse and make me fully whole.
    In sorrow He’s my comfort, in trouble He’s my stay;
    He tells me every care on Him to roll.

Chorus:
He’s the Lily of the Valley, the Bright and Morning Star,
He’s the fairest of ten thousand to my soul.

  1. He all my griefs has taken, and all my sorrows borne;
    In temptation He’s my strong and mighty tow’r;
    I’ve all for Him forsaken, and all my idols torn
    From my heart and now, He keeps me by His pow’r.
    Though all the world forsake me,
    and Satan tempt me sore,
    Through Jesus I shall safely reach the goal.
  2. He’ll never, never leave me, nor yet forsake me here,
    While I live by faith and do His blessed will;
    A wall of fire about me, I’ve nothing now to fear,
    From His manna He my hungry soul shall fill.
    Then sweeping up to glory to see His blessed face,
    Where rivers of delight shall ever roll.
