READ: 1 Corinthians 10:31
Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Luke 20:27-47, 2 Samuel 15-16

MESSAGE:

Ever heard the sentence, you are what you eat? You cannot be far from what you eat because your daily meal would reflect in your skin, blood sugar level, body size et cetera. It is therefore imperative to eat right. God wants you to live in good health but you have a role to play by eating and living right.

To eat right means to eat a balanced diet daily. A balanced diet is a combination of the right proportion of vitamins and minerals in a meal. For instance, it is wrong to combine rice and yam in a meal, instead, it should be rice and beans with fish or meat and fruits to complement.

Avoid too much of sugary things. Gone are those days when sicknesses such as diabetes were only found in adults; these days, some teenagers are diabetic. Thus, rather than take soft drinks/soda, take freshly juiced fruits or water. Take lots of water, it is still the best drink. You also need to watch what you eat right before going to bed, especially if you are plus-sized. Take light foods, so that you can easily wake to read and pray in the night.

Also, exercise daily to be fit. If you have a large compound, you can jog round in the morning. A long walk is also good; I have been doing it for many years and it has been helpful.

KEY POINT:

Living and eating right is your duty, not God’s

HYMNS: Standing On The Promises Of God

  1. Standing on the promises
    of Christ, our King,
    Thro’ eternal ages let
    His praises ring;
    Glory in the highest,
    I will shout and sing,
    Standing on the promises of God.

CHORUS
Standing, standing,
Standing on the promises of God, my Saviour;
Standing, standing,
I’m standing on the promises of God.

  1. Standing on the promises
    that cannot fail.
    When the howling storms of
    doubt and fear assail,
    By the living word of God
    I shall prevail,
    Standing on the promises of God.
  2. Standing on the promises
    I now can see
    Perfect, present cleansing
    in the blood for me;
    Standing in the liberty
    where Christ makes free,
    Standing on the promises of God.
  3. Standing on the promises
    of Christ, the Lord,
    Bound to Him eternally
    by love’s strong cord,
    Overcoming daily with
    the Spirit’s sword,
    Standing on the promises of God.
