READ: 2 Corinthians 5:18-21

18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.

21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Deuteronomy 16-19

MESSAGE:

Reconciliation means the restoration of relationships. For reconciliation to take place, there must have been a breakdown in a relationship. Jesus is a vessel of reconciliation between the world and God. You can also be a vessel of reconciliation by settling disputes among friends and family members. As children of God, we cannot afford to be in a place where there is chaos. We are supposed to represent God wherever we are and bring peace. However, you have to be reconciled with God before you can be a vessel of reconciliation.

A vessel of reconciliation would settle disputes, not sow discord amongst friends and brethren in the church. You should be able to reconcile sinners or backsliders to God, the same way you reconcile friends who havea dispute. For example, if your mother and one of your siblings have a misunderstanding, as a child of God, settle the misunderstanding and don’t take sides with one party: that makes you a vessel of reconciliation.

d) Jerusalem

PRAYER POINT

Father, please make me a vessel of reconciliation, in Jesus’name.

HYMN 19: Jesus Loves Me! This I Know

  1. Jesus loves me! this I know,
    For the Bible tells me so;
    Little ones to Him belong;
    They are weak, but He is strong.

CHORUS
Yes, Jesus loves me,
Yes, Jesus loves me,
Yes, Jesus loves me,
The Bible tells me so.

  1. Jesus loves me He who died,
    Heaven’s gate to open wide,
    He will wash away my sin,
    Let His little child come in.
  2. Jesus loves me, loves me still,
    Tho’ I’m very weak and ill
    From His shining throne on high
    He will watch me where I lie.
  3. Jesus loves me He will stay
    Close beside me all the way,
    If I love Him when I die
    He will take me home on high.
