READ: Psalms 23:1-5
- The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
- He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
- He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
- Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
- Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 1 Chronicles 17-19, John 10:1-42
MESSAGE:
Following the leading of the Holy Spirit may be difficult for any believer who likes to do things in his or her own way, but the Bible has shown us the blessings of following Gods leading. For instance, if you’re visiting a tourist site like ‘Olumo Rock’ in Ogun state for the first time, you will have a beautiful experience following the lead of a tour guide who is acquainted with the place and knows so much about it. The same should apply to us in our journey in life as children of God. You have never been to the world before and you don’t know the future, so its best to follow the lead of the One who is called the Beginning and the End; the One who knows the end from the beginning.
Many teenagers have made mistakes and as a result have lost opportunities, resources and time. They would have avoided the pitfall if they had followed the leading of the Holy Spirit. God is interested in every little detail about you. So, are you about to take any decision today? Please ask God for direction and do whatever He tells you to.
PRAYER POINT:
Father, give me the grace to recognize Your voice and follow Your leading always.
HYMN: I’VE FOUND A FRIEND IN JESUS
- I’ve found a friend in Jesus, He’s everything to me,
He’s the fairest of ten thousand to my soul;
The Lily of the Valley, in Him alone I see
All I need to cleanse and make me fully whole.
In sorrow He’s my comfort, in trouble He’s my stay;
He tells me every care on Him to roll.
Chorus:
He’s the Lily of the Valley, the Bright and Morning Star,
He’s the fairest of ten thousand to my soul.
- He all my griefs has taken, and all my sorrows borne;
In temptation He’s my strong and mighty tow’r;
I’ve all for Him forsaken, and all my idols torn
From my heart and now, He keeps me by His pow’r.
Though all the world forsake me,
and Satan tempt me sore,
Through Jesus I shall safely reach the goal. - He’ll never, never leave me, nor yet forsake me here,
While I live by faith and do His blessed will;
A wall of fire about me, I’ve nothing now to fear,
From His manna He my hungry soul shall fill.
Then sweeping up to glory to see His blessed face,
Where rivers of delight shall ever roll.
