MEMORISE: And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 18:3

READ: Matthew 18:1-4

  1. At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?
  2. And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them,
  3. And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
  4. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

MESSAGE:

One of the characteristics of children is that they don’t worry about anything. Children are not bothered about what they will eat or wear. This is what our Heavenly Father expects from us His children. He does not want us to worry about tomorrow because He will take care of it. So, what is bothering you? Is your health failing? Has your parents marriage fallen apart? Are you afraid of a particular person, subject or course? Tell God about it now and forget about it.

Another good thing about children is that they trust fully. For instance, if I tell any of my little children today, that I will give him or her a private jet as his next birthday gift, even if I cannot afford a car now, he or she will believe without any iota of doubt. God expects us to trust Him. He expects us to have faith in Him. Beloved, faith is an expression of our confidence in God and on His promises. What the prodigal son expressed when he went back home was faith in his father. He was confident that his father would take him back even if it was as a servant. Express this kind of child-like faith as from today and watch God take care of you.

KEY POINT:

Have faith like a child, so that God can prove Himself as your Father.

HYMN: CHRISTIAN SEEK NOT YET REPOSE

  1. Christian, seek not yet repose,
    Hear thy guardian angel say,
    “Thou art in the midst of foes:
    Watch and pray!
  2. Principalities and powers,
    Mustering their unseen array,
    Wait for thine unguarded hours:
    “Watch and pray!
  3. Gird thy heavenly armour on,
    Wear it every night and day,
    Ambushed lies the evil one:
    “Watch and pray!
  4. Hear the victors who overcame;
    Still they mark each warrior’s way,
    All with one sweet voice exclaim,
    “Watch and pray!
  5. Hear, above all, hear thy Lord,
    Him thou lovest to obey;
    Hide within thy heart His word,
    “Watch and pray!
  6. Watch, as if on that alone
    Hung the issue of the day;
    Pray, that help may be sent down:
    “Watch and pray!”
