MESSAGE:
Intercession is praying on behalf of someone, so when you say you’re interceding for a fellow, it means you are praying for him/her. God answers the prayer of intercession if it comes from a heart of compassion. He also rewards intercessors as seen in today’s Bible text.
You don’t have to be told someone’s problem before you intercede on behalf of the fellow. So, when you know that your friend is in need of something and you cannot provide it, just intercede on his/her behalf and God will answer. Since Jesus interceded for your sins and God answered, you have the power to intercede for others and get an answer.
One major purpose of intercession is to stand in the gap for someone before God. So, when God answers your prayer, you’re meant to return all the glory to Him. When you do this consistently, in no time, you will receive answers to your prayers too.
ACTION POINT:
Pray for at least two friends today.
HYMN 5: Take My Life And Let It Be
- Take my life and let it
Consecrated Lord to Thee
Take my moment and my days
Let them flow ceaseless praise. - Take my hands and let them move
At the impulse of Thy love
Take my feet and let them be
Swift and beautiful for thee - Take my voice and let me sing
Always only for my king;
Take my lips and let them be
Filled with messages from Thee. - Take my sliver and my gold
Not a mite would I withhold
Take my intellect, and use
Every power as thou shalt choose. - Take my will and make it Thine,
It shall no longer mine:
Take my heart, it is Thine own;
It shall be Thy royal throne, - Take my love, my Lord, I pour
At Thy feet its treasure store;
Take myself, and I will be
Ever, only, all for thee
