17 Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.

MESSAGE:

Some people say that it is very easy to be a Christian since all you need to do is go to church and say, “Amen.” However, they are wrong. This is because the race to heaven is for serious-minded people who are willing to accept the grace of God to live a holy life.

If you are hoping and praying to make it to heaven, I must let you know that the Christian race is not ‘bread and butter’. Sometimes, when you look at the sacrifices you must make, such as fasting and praying, evangelising, helping the needy, praying at night, and living a holy life, you may want to relax and turn away from the commitment. However, that is dangerous because the Bible says in 1 Peter 5:8: Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

Beloved, you must keep fanning your spiritual flame by associating with the right set of people who are burning for Jesus. The more you stay with them, the hotter your fire will be.

KEY POINT: Iron sharpeneth iron. Associate with people that are on fire for Jesus.
