TOPIC: Unbelief And Doubt [Open Heaven for Teens 27 March 2023]

MEMORISE: But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. Revelation 21:8

READ: James 1:6-7

6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 1 Samuel 17-18

MESSAGE

As far as God is concerned unbelief and doubt are sins, as seen in the memory verse. They prevent answers to prayers, which makes them very dangerous. If you have doubt and unbelief, you cannot please God and He will not answer your prayers. Also, if you expect anything from the Lord, you must be ready to wait until God leads you and not look for alternatives.

If you have faith that God will do something for you, then He will. The fact that there is no immediate answer from God does not mean. He will not answer you, He will, but at His own appointed time. By doubting God, you are challenging His existence. You are saying you are not even sure that there is a God. This is a great insult to Him. How do you expect to get answers to your prayers if you already doubt Him?

Also, doubt and unbelief can hinder one from getting to heaven. Beloved, don’t be like some children of Israel who did not get to the Promised Land because of unbelief and doubt (Hebrews 3:18-19).

PRAYER POINT

Father, please strengthen my faith, in Jesus ‘name.

HYMN 18 – When We Walk With The Lord

  1. When we walk with the Lord,
In the light of His word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will
    He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.

CHORUS
Trust and obey!
For there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus,
But to trust and obey.

  1. Not a shadow can rise,
Not a cloud in the skies,
    But His smile quickly drives it away;
Not a doubt nor a fear,
Not a sigh nor a tear,
Can abide while we trust and obey.
  2. Not a burden we bear,
    Not a sorrow we share
    But our toil He doth richly repay;
Not a grief nor a loss,
Not a frown nor a cross,
But is blest if we trust and obey
  3. But we never can prove
    The delights of His love,
Until all on the altar we lay,
    For the favour He shows
    And the joy He bestows
Are for them who will trust and obey.
  4. Then in fellowship sweet
We will sit at His feet,
Or we’ll walk by His side in the way,
What He says we will do,
Where He sends we will go,
Never fear, only trust and obey.
