MEMORISE: God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalms 46:1

READ: Exodus 15:3-4

  1. The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is his name.
  2. Pharaoh’s chariots and his host hath he cast into the sea: his chosen captains also are drowned in the Red sea.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Ezekiel 38-39, 1 Peter 4:1-19

MESSAGE:

A young boy went into a stadium one day and decided to swim, though he had no knowledge of swimming and did not follow due process either. He went to the junior swimming pool and had a good time. Then he stole into the adult area unknown to the pool guard. He praised himself for being smart without paying. As he sank into the water, he realized he had landed in the deepest part and couldn’t stand on his feet like he did in the junior pool. Not long after, he began to gulp water as he struggled to breathe in the pool. He was confused, drowning and could not cry for help as he should. As God would have it, one of his cousins who was there sighted him in the pool and ran to rescue him.

Today, that stubborn boy has become a child of God and is now a pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God. That boy would have been dead in few minutes if God hadn’t sent him help on time. God is still in the business of sending help to those in need of it. If you are one of them, cry to Him for help today and He will rescue you.

PRAYER POINT:

Father, let me never lack divine help in my life’s journey.

HYMN 22: My Faith Looks Up To Thee

  1. My faith looks up to Thee,
    Thou Lamb of Calvary,
    Saviour divine!
    Now hear me while I pray,
    Take all my guilt away;
    O let me from this day
    Be wholly Thine.
  2. May Thy rich grace impart
    Strength to my fainting heart,
    My zeal inspire;
    As Thou hast died for me,
    O may my love to Thee
    Pure, warm, and changeless be,
    A living fire.
  3. While life’s dark maze I tread,
    And griefs around me spread,
    Be Thou my guide;
    Bid darkness turn to day,
    Wipe sorrow’s tears away,
    Nor let me ever stray
    From Thee aside.
  4. When ends life’s transient dream,
    When death’s cold, sullen stream
    Shall o’er me roll,
    Blest Saviour, then in love,
    Fear and distrust remove;
    O bear me safe above,
    A ransomed soul.
