MESSAGE:

The Bible categorizes believers into two: the sheep and the goats. This classification is based on the condition of our heart and willingness to follow the Master as He leads. The sheep has a good relationship with the Shepherd in the sense that it doesn’t wander away from the company of His fellowship, they stay together. Contrary to general belief, a sheep is not foolish or sluggish, it only follows the leading of the shepherd dogmatically.

As children of God, we are expected to be like the sheep which is meek in nature, quiet and gentle. You should not struggle with God’s leading if indeed you’re a sheep. Like Jesus said, you will know His voice and be ready to follow it.

The reason many make mistakes is that they are like goats which are head strong in their pursuit irrespective of what God is saying about it. They don’t listen to corrections, instead, they run from the shepherd if corrected with the rod. A sheep however, would stay in the flock even after being corrected by the shepherd. Don’t run from pillar to post when you’re corrected. Be like a sheep!

KEY POINT:

Are you a sheep or goat?

HYMN: I Can Hear My Saviour Calling

I can hear my Savior calling,
I can hear my Savior calling,
“Take thy cross and follow, follow Me.

Where He leads me I will follow,
Where He leads me I will follow,
Where He leads me I will follow,
I’ll go with Him, with Him all the way.

  1. I’ll go with Him through the garden,
I’ll go with Him through the garden,
I’ll go with Him through the garden,
I’ll go with Him, with Him all the way.
  2. I’ll go with Him through the judgment,
I’ll go with Him through the judgment,
I’ll go with Him through the judgment,
I’ll go with Him, with Him all the way.
  3. He will give me grace and glory,
He will give me grace and glory,
He will give me grace and glory,
And go with me, with me all the way.
