TOPIC: More Than Conquerors II [Open Heaven for Teens 28 December 2023]

MEMORISE: Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. 1 John 4:4

BIBLE TEXT: Romans 8:35-39

35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.

37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

MESSAGE:

Our Bible reading says that we are more than conquerors, which means every Christian is engaged in warfare. If, while preparing for a fight, God shows you that at the end, even though you would be knocked down with a broken neck and a bruised eye, you would be declared the winner, I’m sure you will approach such a fight with confidence. Peradventure, the opponent gives you several punches in the first round, you will be consoled by the dream God showed you, and so, your determination to win will be intact.

The phrase more than conquerors means that there will be battles to fight, but you will win. Ephesians 6:12 shows a list of opponents to wrestle with, but God has promised His children victory, even before fighting. However, you can only be more than a conqueror if God is your Ally. For Him to be your Ally, you must have first accepted Jesus Christ into your life. If you are yet to accept Jesus into your life, don’t delay, do so now. Then, you will be more than a conqueror.

PRAYER POINT:

Father, please always make me more than a conqueror.

HYMN 20 – Ho, My Comrades! See The Signal

  1. Ho, my comrades! see the signal
    Waving in the sky!
    Reinforcements now appearing,
    Victory is nigh!

“Hold the fort, for I am coming,”
Jesus signals still,
Wave the answer back to heaven,
“By Thy grace we will, “

  1. See the mighty host advancing
    Satan leading on:
    Mighty men around us falling,
    Courage almost gone!
  2. See the glorious banner waving!
    Hear the trumpet blow!
In our Leader’s name we’ll triumph
    Over ev’ry foe!
  3. Fierce and long the battle rages,
    But our help is near:
    Onward comes our great commander,
    Cheer, my comrades, cheer!
