READ: Haggai 2:6-9

6 For thus saith the LORD of hosts; Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land;

7 And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the LORD of hosts.

8 The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the LORD of hosts.

9 The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the LORD of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the LORD of hosts.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Isaiah 47-49

MESSAGE

The devil knows that a person without a sense of purpose can never fulfill a glorious destiny; this is why he attacks children from dysfunctional homes. When I got into the University, I veered of the path of righteousness and started living recklessly. I believe the devil was so sure that he had got me for life but I thank God for drawing me to Himself. Beyond my career ambition, He gave me a new purpose that entailed me representing Him and His kingdom all over the world.

One of the lies the devil drives into the lives of many children, especially those born out of wedlock or in polygamy, is that nothing good will ever come out of their lives. At a point in my life, I dreaded this thought too because fate conferred on me the position of being the son of a second wife, but God showed me mercy.

Are you in a fix where you think you cannot succeed in life? I encourage you to surrender your life to Jesus today to secure your glorious destiny. Your life can become globally relevant if you surrender all to Him.

PRAYER POINT:

Father, please reveal your purpose for my life to me and help me walk in it daily.

HYMN 6: I’m Pressing On The Upward Way

  1. I’m pressing on the upward way,
    New heights I’m gaining everyday;
    Still praying as I onward bound
    “Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.”

CHORUS
Lord, lift me up and let me stand,
By faith, on Heaven’s table-land;
Where love, and joy, and light abound,
Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.

  1. My heart has no desire to stay
    Where doubts arise, and fears dismay;
    Though some may dwell where these abound,
    My constant aim is higher ground.
  2. Beyond the mist I fain would rise,
    To rest beneath unclouded skies,
    Above earth’s turmoil peace is found
    By those who dwell on higher ground.
  3. I long to scale the utmost height,
    Though rough the way, and hard the fight,
    My song, while climbing, shall resound
    Lord, lead me on to higher ground.
  4. Lord, lead me up the mountain side
    I dare not climb without my Guide;
    And, heaven gained, I’ll gaze around,
    With grateful heart from higher ground.
